Simple To Install, Simple To Use

With access through a standard web browser or Java Web Start, application updates are installed automatically. Initial installation is achieved by simply typing in the application's URL. Java Web Start enables the application to be run via a desktop icon.

The intuitive and feature-rich interface of a DataNovata application includes comprehensive navigation and window management controls making its operation simple. Views of the data can be bookmarked for future access. Users can be given permissions to configure their environment, from window sizes and table layouts to field selection and positioning. All views can also be transformed into a spreadsheet or HTML document.

Powerful

An out-of-the-box DataNovata application already allows navigation through the data hierarchy. Information can be viewed in the context of relationships, enabling drill down and traverse of data. On-line facilities enable supervisors to customise views of data for groups of users.

However, further customisation enables developers to create new relationships, unleashing the full power of SQL and Java programming, including the use of SQL Views. Many simple presentational options are available. e.g. displaying a number of columns within the same table as a grid, special formatting of date fields, grouping columns into a single field, displaying representations rather than actual values etc.

All communication with the database is securely handled by the web server using the https protocol.

A flexible security system includes row-level data security and data security roles and rules can be configured by administrators using the on-line interface. This ensures access is restricted as appropriate.
