DataNovata 3.0 now includes a new, interactive wizard to help users get started with their projects even faster. The wizard guides users through a series of simple steps to quickly configure a project, prompting them for the basic information required by the development kit.

It also includes enhanced features for creating and maintaining notes for data records, and for interfacing with stored procedures, giving deeper integration with target databases. From the end user’s perspective, new search features allow more powerful data searches, using multiple search values and ranges.

NSC Programming Ltd has taken over the responsibility for the technical support of a major system at Yell that the company successfully migrated from a mainframe to Unix a number of years ago.

Yell have also recently acquired DataNovata to augment their existing enquiry facilities and to extend the functionality of the Business File application still further.

The application, which was written 20 years ago and modernised by NSC a decade ago, continues to play an important part in the success of Yell – showing yet again that NSC is a company you can trust.

NSC has signed a contract with a major insurance company to provide DataNovata as an important part of a large-scale Application Decommissioning project.

The project is expected to last for several years, with the first 11 applications from a variety of platforms being decommissioned in the next 12 months.

DataNovata will be used throughout to provide a complete view of all the residual data, allowing the company to continue to access to the information they need without the expense of running the original applications.
